2017 Saddlebrooke Car Show

SB CAR SHOW JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER

It’s hard to believe, but 2017 marks the 9th year for the 4th of July Car Show here in Saddlebrooke.  Every year gets bigger and better, and this year followed suit.  The 2017 Show boasted 72 cars – the most ever!  There was an impressive array of classic, muscle and vintage cars to suit all tastes – Corvettes (the Sonoran Desert Corvettes accounted for 21 of them), Mustangs, the Mini Cooper Club, a McLaren, a Porsche, a Ferrari, the Miata Club, and many others, including our famous “Geezers”.   The oldest vehicle was a 1923 Durant Touring, and there were five 2017 models of cars.

As if we didn’t need another reason to live in Saddlebrooke, those of us showing our cars had a great crew making the show run seamlessly and extremely enjoyable.  The day started with Charlotte James (Show organizer) and her committee of volunteers and spouses giving all car owners the necessary signage for their windshields and guiding us in parking our “babies”.  The day was made even more festive and enjoyable with the background music from DJ Gus, and food and beverages were served under the veranda.

The Show was a terrific experience for both the spectators and car owners. Not only did the visitors to the free Show get to see the array of vehicles (many little boys – and their Dads – looked pretty wistful), but we participants also got to see and talk to a lot of our friends and also meet some new ones.  A few of the car clubs represented even got some interest from potential new members.

If you’ve never been to the car show, or if you might be interested in showing your car, be sure to join in on the fun next year!
